Lyngby Vase

Lyngby Porcelain

Description

Originally designed in Copenhagen, the Lyngby vase was created in stark contrast to the classical porcelain traditions. From the 1800’s up until the 1920’s the traditional porcelain vases required lots of painting, ornaments and glazing. The Lyngby vase challenged this assumption: the shape itself is enough. Heavily influenced by the functional Bauhaus movement in Germany.
